Farmskills Passport
Ag Training has developed a Farm Skills Passport that is given to students on completion of any training completed. Many people working on the land do not have a record of their work skills (resume). The Ag Training Farm Skills Passport has been developed to provide both employee and employer with a precise, up to date employment history and a record of all certification.
The passport looks like a traveller’s passport and contains an A to Z of information that a potential employer would need to know before they offer any staff memeber a position.
If you would like to find out more about this initiative passport, please contact our office.
Staff Introduction - Our new trainer
Jason was brought up working on various farms in South-East Queensland from a young age, deviating briefly to become a computer and printer technician for the Darling Downs. But the love of the country was too much so he went on to study sustainable agriculture and is now focusing on Environmental Engineering studies. Jason began harvesting with Ag Workforce in early 2006 after completing his Certificate III in Agriculture (Course Code 30103A Skills Set in Machinery Operation and Maintenance). He then completed the 2006 wheat havrvest with Harvest Force. Jason is now working with Ag Training and using his agricultural and technological experience as a Trainer.
We would like to welcome him to our team, and I am sure that you will have to opportunity to meet with him in the near future.
Hay Baling Fatality
A haymaking accident claimed the life of a 61 year old man after he attempted to fix a blockage in a baling machine. The man was killed at the scene of the accident as he sustained severe limb, abdominal and chest injuries.
This was only one of the numerous deaths relating to farm and tractor accidents in NSW in 2005.
