Classroom Training for Machinery Does Not Work
Trainees need to experience real life situations
Training simulations or classroom training on machinery does not work because:
- ● trainees do not get an accurate understanding of real life situations
- ● trainees are not adequately prepared for the environments in which they are required to work which are often characterized by large amounts of often ambiguous information.
- ● trainees fail to gain the competencies required to act in a coordinated, adaptable fashion, and make effective decisions in a real working environment
Relying on classroom licensing for machinery is like allowing a pilot to gain a license without flying a plane. They may get all the answers right on the exam but you would not want to fly with them.
